Vandalia Public Swimming Pool
The Vandalia Park District secured the services of Hurst-Rosche to design a total renovation of their public swimming pool. The pool was originally constructed in the 1960's and has been upgraded several times throughout the years. Despite those upgrades, the pool had slipped into a state of disrepair and in need of a complete and total renovation. The scope of work included new pumps and filters, structural improvements to the south pool equipment room wall and concrete deck that covers the pool equipment room, new pool deck, a new kid-friendly zero-entry area with water features, ADA accessibility to the pool via the zero-entry feature, new diving platforms, led lighting, an under-water sound system, replacement of the linger, replacement of the roof on the bathhouse, complete renovation of the bathhouse and a new color scheme.
