State Street Bridge
Hurst-Rosche provided the engineering services necessary to construct a four-lane, three-span, composite, steel beam bridge over multiple tracks on State Street over Alton/Southern Railroad to relieve a railroad-highway conflict situation. The project included the construction of 0.5 mile of approach roadway, seismic design-Category B, integral abutment, fixed pier configuration, and steel H pile foundation (46 meters). Services included TS&L development (alternative bridge configurations and comparative estimates of cost), preliminary and final design, special provisions, and estimate of construction cost for this project.
