Southern Illinois University Edwardsville
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, Cardio/Fitness Room Flooring Replacement The project included removal of the existing subfloor and carpet, design of new electrical circuits and floor boxes to feed power and data for the exercise equipment located in the middle area of the room, and installation of a synthetic surface called Mondo Floor which is delivered to the site in rolls. The Mondo floor is 6 mm thick and is adhered to two-layers of plywood substrate. The heights of the flooring materials were coordinated during the design phase to ensure the new floor height matched the existing thresholds throughout the room.
