East Elementary School
Design Architects teamed with CTS to provide design services and construction documents for the renovation of East Elementary School.
Jerseyville East Elementary School is approximately 52,000 square feet. The first portion of the school was constructed in 1926 with additional phases added in 1935, 1955 and 1967. Each phase of the construction presented the design team with various challenges due to the various construction methods, building materials, and codes during those time periods.
Specific Items in the scope of work include site work, utility relocation, repair to the building envelop which includes tuck-pointing and brick replacement, window replacement, lintel repair, a new entrance, hazardous material abatement, complete renovation of the classrooms with upgrades to technology, finishes, and lighting, complete renovation of the offices and corridors, updating the facility to meet ADA requirements, and new plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems, the addition of a security system, and the addition of a fire suppression system.
