City of East St. Louis
Hurst-Rosche was retained by the City of East St. Louis to provide an inspection and report regarding the possible rehabilitation of the former police and fire Station. The building was originally constructed in 1938 and is approximately 37,600 square feet consisting of a basement and two floors above grade, with 9,665 square feet being used for a fire station and 27,935 square feet utilized as a police station. With the intent of putting the building back in use, current codes, standards and regulations would need to be addressed. The compliance with these newer standards would, for all practical purposes, be the driving factor in establishing the minimal and recommended scopes of work for this project.
