Cache River Bridge
Hurst-Rosche provided the engineering services necessary to construct a 5 span 404’ bridge over the Cache River in southern Illinois, seismic performance category C. The bridge superstructure was constructed with 40” plate girders utilizing weathering steel. The substructure for the bridge consisted of 4 solid wall piers founded on pile supported spread footings along with stub abutments. The project also included a realignment of the approach roadway to improve the alignment and maintain traffic on the existing bridge during proposed bridge construction. Services included both Phase I planning and Phase II plan development.
