Surface Water Management
Following is a list of projects on which Hurst-Rosche has performed
hydraulic studies addressing surface water management issues.
|
Infrastructure Study – MESD
The Metro-East Sanitary Districts owns and maintains the levees pump
stations and major drainage ditches along the Mississippi River in St.
Clair and Madison. Hurst-Rosche completed an evaluation and study of
all the major facilities to determine the improvements needed to restore
the facilities to the original design capacity. The study resulted in
$25,000,000 dollars in construction work which is being administered
by the Corps of Engineers. |
Bridgeview Subdivision
Cahokia, IL
Hurst-Rosche performed hydraulic studies and prepared final plans and
specifications to control the surface water in an established subdivision
which was experiencing periodic flooding. The storm sewer system was
constructed in three phases and consisted of 12-inch to 24-inch pipe
and improvements to surface ditches. Construction Cost was
approximately $450,000 and was completed in 1997. |
Honeycreek Conservancy District
Terre Haute, IN
Hurst-Rosche is preparing the final plans and specifications for a
major drainage channel and retention basin for development of
approximately 2000 acres. The project will also alleviate surface flood
of the adjacent heavily developed area adjacent to the Wabash River.
Estimated construction cost is $2,000,000. Hurst-Rosche also provided
design calculation and surface water modeling. |
City View Subdivision
Cahokia, IL
Hurst-Rosche has completed the hydraulic and sizing calculations for a
subdivision in Cahokia which experiences periodic surface flooding. Final
plans and specifications were prepared for phase I construction
consisting of a storm water collection system ranging from 12-inch to
36-inch with construction scheduled to start in the fall of 1998. The
project is to be constructed in three phases over the next three years
and is estimated to cost $500,000. |
Illinois Route 127
Hillsboro, IL
Hurst-Rosche completed plans and specifications along with hydraulic
studies for widening of Illinois Route 127 for approximately one and
one-half miles through the city of Hillsboro. Construction will include
a storm sewer system and ditch improvements. The estimated project cost
is $5,000,000 with construction schedules to start in
November 1998. |
Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans |
Hurst-Rosche has prepared SWPPPs for the following facilities:
- Southern Illinois Hauling Division, Roxana, IL
- Roxana Landfill, Roxana, IL
- Coles County Sanitary Landfill, Coles County, IL
- Rockford Hauling Facility, Rockford, IL
- Rockford Materials Recovery Facility, Rockford, IL
- Belleville Sanitary Landfill, Belleville, IL
- Schaumburg Hauling Facility, Schaumburg, IL
- D & L Landfill, Greenville, IL
- Salem Landfill, Salem, IL
- Bridgeton Hauling Company, Bridgeton, MO
|
Belleville Sanitary Landfill
Belleville, IL
Hurst-Rosche obtained necessary permits from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
and IEPA for restoration work within a wetland area. Hurst-Rosche also
designed a storm sewer relief system for redirecting surface water
discharges at the site. |
Greene County Landfill
Greene County, IL
Hurst-Rosche prepared and implemented a final closure plan which
included construction of surface water management structures,
including berms, ditches, and sedimentation basins. |
