FA Route 2 (Illinois Route 3)
Madison County, IL
Project consists of relocation and completion of FA Route 2 in the
City of Alton, Illinois, consisting of 1.5 miles of four-lane highway
with partial access control. Also includes grade separation structure
carrying FA 2 over railroad yard and at-grade intersections with city
streets. Two-lane connector to Broadway Street and one-way service drive
along Front Street, plus retaining walls at four locations are
included.
Geotechnical engineering included the inspection of soil boring and rock
coring operations; laboratory testing including mechanical analysis,
moisture-density relationships, determination of Illinois Bearing Ratios,
unconfined compression, consolidation and triaxial compression; stability,
settlement and subgrade analyses; and foundation and construction
recommendations.

I-270 over I-495, Bethesda Trolley Trail
Design of two links of the Bethesda Trolley Trail Hiker/Biker Facility that
contains two design structures. One pedestrian bridge 185 feet long will cross
over the east spur of I-270 and it requires a series of loop ramps on
the bridge approaches. Retaining walls will be required to confine ramps
within the right-of-way. The second bridge is 200 feet long over I-495 the
Capital Beltway. Project also includes survey, environmental impacts and
design of 10 foot wide trail section.

I-695 Baltimore Beltway
I-695 Baltimore Beltway from East of Dulaney Valley Road to West of Harford Rd.
Responsibilities included inspection, rehabilitation and widening of the
I-695 over Cromwell Bridge Road and I-695 over Loch Raven Boulevard bridges,
associated retaining walls, noise walls and culverts. Bridge design consists
of traffic staging, modifications, ratings, and detailing required to add
an HOV lane and upgrade to HS 25 loading. |
