Mousette Lane Overpass (Southern Pacific)
East St. Louis, IL
The construction of a multiple-span bridge carrying traffic on Mousette
Lane over Southern Pacific, Chicago, St. Louis Railroad, and the Gateway
Railroad. The overpass structure will relieve the railroad/ highway
conflict which exists as vehicles are stopped at the crossing located
within the limits of a busy switchyard.
A two-span plate girder structure is proposed for the grade separation
carrying two lanes of traffic in a north-south direction allowing traffic
from the City of Centreville and surrounding Metro-East areas to access
local collector-distributor roadways. Specific features included integral
abutment design and seismic design (SPCB). |
