Hurst-Rosche Engineers, Inc. and its subsidiary, Atlas Soils, Inc.
is capable of providing diversified services in the field of geotechnical
and geological engineering. We maintain full-time drill crews and
equipment for the completion of subsurface investigations; we maintain
a fully-equipped soil and materials testing laboratory; and we employ
experienced engineers to provide appropriate reports, analyses and
recommendations. |

Before a building is constructed, a roadway built, or
a waste disposal facility developed, the materials which will be used in
the construction of the project must be determined and specified. For
many engineers the material types and their properties are
somewhat limitless. For the geotechnical engineer, however, this luxury
is not available. Instead, the geotechnical engineer must determine
the materials (soil and rock) that are present at the project site
and the engineering properties of these materials. Recommendations must
then be presented for the best possible design based on this
information. To make these recommendations, the geotechnical engineer
must have a strong background in mechanics, hydraulics and geology;
and he must use sound judgment, logic and experience. |
