This project included the field investigation, study and preparation of contract documents for the rehabilitation of three (3) sewage pumping stations. Hurst-Rosche inspected the pump stations and developed as-built drawings on one of the pump stations. Architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical modifications were made to all three of the pump stations.

The work included:

  • Concrete and structural steel rehabilitation
  • Updating all ventilation systems to safety code requirements
  • Replacing pumps, motors, valves and controls
  • Upgrading the equipment
  • Rehabilitating the roofing on one pump station
  • Replacing doors and windows; along with adding safety equipment

Sanitary Sewer Pumping Treatments
Cahokia, IL

Design of four million gallon per day pumping station with automatically operated sewage screening machine. Project also consists of telemetering, metering and high voltage electrical service.

 

Rehabilitation and replacement of storm and sanitary sewers
and pump stations

East St. Louis, IL

Sanitary sewer repairs at eight different locations in the City of East St. Louis, consisting of gunite repair of approximately 4,600 lineal feet of 66" - 84" sewer line and 13 manholes; excavation and replacement of approximately 440 lineal feet of sewer line, 78" - 84" in diameter; excavation and replacement of approximately 3,490 lineal feet of 8" - 35" sewer line, some of which required dewatering; cleaning, televising, and grouting of joints of approximately 17,120 lineal feet of 8" - 36" sewer line; and the replacement of pumps, controls and auxiliary generators at three pump stations. Engineering services included, surveys, preliminary and final plans, and construction engineering.

Rehabilitation of sanitary sewer and construction of
interceptor sewer

Cahokia, IL
Construction Cost: 4,093,280

This project consists of lining approximately 17,500 lineal feet of existing 8-inch to 30-inch Sanitary Sewer. The project also includes the construction of a 2400 GPM lift station and 16,000 L.F. of 18-inch force main. Sewer repairs by excavation are to be made at two locations and four existing pump stations are to be rehabilitated. Design is 100% complete with construction scheduled to start in March 1999 and was completed on December 1999.

 

Sewer line improvement and water line extension

Water Lines Construction Cost: $1,299,360

Improvements to the sewage collection system include 1,307 lineal feet of 15-inch force main and one pump station. Engineering services include the design of drawings, specifications and bidding documents in connection with the improvements to the water and sewage system on the city’s existing system. Hurst-Rosche is also providing construction administration and observation. Project was completed in June, 1997.
