Chain of Rocks Recycling and Disposal Facility
Granite City, IL

Hurst-Rosche is currently completing quarterly groundwater sampling at this facility. The monitoring program for the facility consists of 28 monitor wells which are sampled using dedicated well pumps.

D & L Landfill
Greenville, IL

Hurst-Rosche has compiled quarterly groundwater data for the existing landfill. Over the past few years, Hurst-Rosche has completed an assessment of the site and has prepared and managed groundwater remediation at the site. A hydraulic barrier has been constructed at the site and a groundwater management zone has been established at the site. Hurst-Rosche has also managed groundwater issues associated with facility expansion. Management included completion of a hydrogeologic investigation, supervision of the preparation of a groundwater impact assessment, and developing applicable groundwater quality standards (AGQS) and maximum allowable predicted concentrations (MAPCs). Hurst-Rosche is currently completing quarterly groundwater sampling at this facility. The monitoring program for the closed and expansion landfills consists of 16 monitor wells which are sampled using conventional bailing techniques.

Leaking Underground Storage Tanks

Hurst-Rosche has been involved with numerous environmental projects which require characterization of hydrogeologic conditions. A majority of the projects are associated with leaking underground storage tanks. Management of these projects has included assessment of site conditions, defining contamination nature and extent, and remediating site contamination. Remediation efforts have included conventional dig and haul, pump and treat, and bioremediation.
