| Hurst-Rosche completed engineering services necessary to provide the
University with a
Program Analysis with construction phasing recommendations, life-cycle costing
and cost estimates for the infrastructure repairs and enhancements associated
with the Edwardsville, Alton, and East St. Louis campuses.
Areas of concern
were upgrading the parking lots, parking lot lighting, pedestrian crossings,
security systems, and signage. Improvements to be constructed are estimated
to be $7 million. Construction Administration services included the
preparation of bidding documents, assistance with the bidding process and
selection of contractor.
Fan Parking Lot Resurfacing
The parking areas and roadways comprising the fan-shaped parking lot were
constructed approximately 30 years ago, some of which were originally designed
by Hurst-Rosche. The project included resurfacing ten asphalt parking areas,
walkways and two roadways; construction of new curbing; improvements to
the storm drainage system; installation of an emergency telephone system;
sealing and pavement markings; enhancements to traffic control and
regulatory signage; and application of crack-control fabric underlayment. Work
was accomplished in phases and completed as parking and traffic revenues
became available.
